The Friends of the Jefferson City Public Library were the proud recipient of a Jane L. Pettway Foundation Grant in the amount of $2,000.
The Jane L. Pettway Foundation was founded by a former local librarian and parishioner of St. John's Cathedral. This foundation has an interest in education, youth, social services, housing, missions, churches and other Christian organizations. The Pettway Grant was used to redecorate the children's area at the Jefferson City Public Library. The library was able to purchase three colorful tables and 24 children’s chairs. Also, the library was able to get a new story hour cart and rug to be used during their children’s programs. With a little paint and the new furniture, the children’s area is inviting to children of all ages. Three adult tables were also purchased with this grant, making even the adult area more inviting to customers.
